Old Dominion Freight Line Terminal and Maintenance Facility

Indianapolis, Indiana
This design-build project consists of 20,000 square feet of office space renovation work, addition of 3,000 square feet of office space, addition of 50,000 square feet of distribution space (118 dock doors), renovation of 105,000 square feet of distribution space (210 dock doors), renovation of a 10,000 square feet fueling center, and a new 35,000 square feet maintenance facility.  Site work on this project included an added parking lot, new site lighting, a new storm water management system and new underground utilities.  With the benefit of being able to work on the site and work inside the building concurrently, we renovated the office areas while site modifications were underway.  The office scope of work included not only new finishes, but completely new mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as the addition of fire sprinkler protection throughout the entire facility to bring the building up to current code requirements. The dock addition consisted of an elevated concrete slab with a pre-engineered metal building.  The maintenance building consisted of precast concrete wall panels and a structural steel frame.  This building will have maintenance areas, wash bays, a paint booth, and office space.  The total duration for all construction activities is 14 months.
